Call me crazy, but here's what I did when Whisky was growing up.
I had read that much like humans, animals need their brain stimulated during their development, otherwise they could end up kinda dumb.
Me and my gf both having demanding jobs, I figured that many hours of solitude in complete silence would certainly suck hardcore for my dog, so I took the habit of leaving the TV on upon leaving for work.
I figured I might as well tune it to Animal Planet so he could see and get used to the sounds of animals and voices as well.
Did I get lucky and the dog was born this way, or was it Animal Planet, but my dog doesn't care at all about animals outside our house and therefore never chases them. For him, it's like they're part of the scenery and not that interesting...
I still do this to this day.
Opinions?
