first Nadac trial of this year.
Dixie (open) and Jocu (novice) were entered in Jumpers on Friday
Jocu had a great run
Dixie- she had a great run too but I screwed up- didn't rotate all the way through the second front cross and sent her over the wrong jump...

Saturday
Dixie (open) and Jocu (novice) were entered in Jumpers again
Jocu had another great run - not sure if there's video but if there is, it's on someone else's camera...
Dixie's run must be on the other camera too - can't remember what we screwed up but we didn't q.

Cranberry (elite), Dixie (open) and Jocu (novice) were all in Weavers Sat and Sun.
in elite, the dogs do one set of 12 poles one time and one set of 12 poles twice
in open, the dogs do one set of 12 poles one time and one set of 6 poles twice
in novice, the dogs do one set of 6 poles one time and one set of 6 poles twice
all three dogs blew at least one set of weaves both days...

Cran Sat
Cran Sun

Dixie Sat- don't see a vid for this run
Dixie Sun

Jocu Sat
Jocu Sun

and then Tunnelers
all four both days....

Cran broke his start line and got through the first tunnel while I was still walking to the end of that tunnel- he didn't get to finish that run.
Dixie had a good run -q
Jocu- came out of one of the tunnels so I had to send him back in so he was over time but it was a good run
Destin- got a q and his novice tunnelers title

Sunday- first thing in the morning- I wasn't awake yet.
Cran broke his stay by standing so I made him wait but I did let him run. would have been a q if we weren't eliminated for start line training.
Dixie- I got lost and screwed up her path so no q
Jocu- did the same thing with him
Destin- I wasn't lost here but Destin had his own course to run

last class on Sunday is Jumpers- Dix and Jo ran Fri and Sat so I ran Cran and Destin on Sunday
Cran- I haven't been running him as much in jumpers and he needs more space than Dix and Jo so I feel that I pushed him off a lot of those jumps. but he was with me for the whole course and didn't knock any bars
Destin- wow, he's too fast for me at the moment but we did get around the course correctly but the places where I had to call him put us over time. the best part of the whole weekend was that he came to me at the end of each run without much fuss

Wow, some fab runs! Don't tell the others, but Destin is rapidly becoming my favourite, I think he is awesome!

I am very glad we don't have weavers over here! Weave poles are my least favourite obstacle, and I think that reflects onto my dogs. I would freak out if I had to do more than one set of 12 weaves in a class. I hope to have solid weaves with Sparrow, but at the moment we can't get beyond the last two inches to close them:lol:

Bless little Jocu, I had to smile when he went off to check that cone (I presume it was a cone near the start?). He is a nosy beggar. When he missed his weave entry it was because he was busy checking out something else and not concentrating. He'll get there, just needs to mature a little more.

So you get eliminated for resetting a dog at the startline, even if they have not crossed the timing gates? Wow, that would disrupt quite a few people over-here! Here you can reset a dog, as long as you don't keep doing it and take ages. It only counts as an elimination if the dog has run past the starting gates and you then reset them.

I do like watching the different courses you get over there. I keep trying to work out how I would run those tunnelers courses without getting myself in a complete muddle. I think you do amazing, especially with four dogs all at different levels:yes:

thanks:yes:

yep, Destin is something else:winkgrin:

we do weavers specifically to practice weaves at a trial- it really helps.

yep, Jocu is a curious boy. that's the second time he went to check out a cone in a trial. also has stopped dead in his tracks upon spotting a bar setter in a chair at the side of the ring.

Nadac allows training so if you go back to the dog to reset the stay- even without touching the dog, it becomes a training run. if I had reset him and then run with him instead of leading out again, I believe it would have counted but I'm not sure. He broke the stay the day before so I didn't let him finish that run. they get so excited when they see the tunnels....

Nadac has the most games of the trials that we go to. I haven't even entered all of the classes yet so there's even more stuff to see:pop someday

It sounds a lot of fun! I like games classes. Would you mind if I borrowed one of your tunnelers videos to show my training club? I would love for our club to try that at comps, but I want them to see how it is done:wink2:

Some nice stuff in there! Jocu is quickly becoming super consistent! He is definitely learning and growing. Nice job! And of course little Destin is a crazy little bi-blue. He and Enzo should hang out!

In watching your Jumpers run with Cran, I wonder if some of that is avoidance? I feel like at this point he should have made an effort to take this jumps even if you are a little closer than he likes.

Jo is a very good boy- weave practice is our big thing to work on right now.

Destin- yep crazy little boy- gotta keep moving even if it's the wrong direction:winkgrin:

Cran hasn't gotten much agility attention lately- we did a lot of jump work last summer and he was doing really well in practice but then we lost the time slot that we used to work that- I think it shows.
he's also been doing some other stuff which cuts into jump practice time.
one of the people watching said she wasn't sure if he even saw some of the jumps. it's hard to know which reason is why he skips jumps and it's hard to work on unless you know what the actual problem is and what you can do to work on it:gaah

Yay!!! Good job!

Glad to hear Destin is getting better at coming back to you at the end of a run. Love the jump into your arms :biggrin2:
