"nappy" ear fur HELP!

Baby powder, regular brushing with a slicker and sometimes a little scissoring.

Keeping the ears properly trimmed is an art in itself. The link I'm about to show you below is cheating a little, but I think it will get you started until your figure out the rest. I also recommend you get the book "The Art of Sheltie Grooming" by Barb Ross. Unfortunately the pictures are illustrations only but its an excellent start as to learning the mechanics.

and just make sure the fur is not too long that will also cause knots. If you keep the fur trimmed it stays pretty much tangle free...unless ofcourse you have other dogs dragging said dog around the yard by their head:lol::rolleyes2:
