Narrow Esophagus And Agility

I'm asking this for a friend. She has discovered her young dog has a narrow esophagus. Would this have any negative effect on the dog being able to run agility? I'm not sure if this would have any effect on the dogs breathing, and was hoping someone here might have an answer that I can give her.

It shouldn't. Since it is not part of the airway/breathing system, the Esophagus would only come into play when eating or vomiting.

Out of curiosity, how did she find out about the narrow esophagus. Most times we see that is following trauma when a stricture forms ie after a foreign body or burn(chemical, medication etc), Megaesophagus is the most common issue there and it is due to a number of conditions. Can't really see the esophagus on radiographs unless it is dilated or highlighted by dye.

Hmmm

I'm going to continue following this one because my guy regurgitates water on a daily basis... and occasionally food. He's been de-barked. Wondering if that caused any damage.
