Need Help My Shelties Test Results

Hi,

I hope I'm able to get some answers here as I'm worried about my Sheltie.
I took her for a teeth cleaning and the vet called to say that when they did blood work her urine and blood levels in her kidneys weren't normal. The test results came back today and they are negative for Addisons disease and they couldn't find anything wrong with her. They want me to take her urine and bring her back next week so that they can test it and if still no results they want to do an ultrasound. She is acting fine and the only thing I can report is that she has gained weight but other then that everything appears normal. She is a very nervous dog so I don't know if that can effect her levels. The vet said no. I also mentioned thyroid but again the vet said no. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong. She is only 4 years old.

A urine test and ultrasound are well within reason, have those tests done, especially if everything else has been ruled out (including tick-borne diseases). Shelties with JRD tend to be older before they start showing signs. Good luck catching the pee :smile2: The tops of the vaccine boxes are ideal, your vet can give you one.
 
I'm having my dog tested for cushings, symptoms my dog has -skin issues,aggressive,alot of weight gain,lethargic and she is in beginning stages of Kidney failure. Good luck with your tests. We are also doing urine on Weds. I use a large Kitchen Utensil spoon and just slip right under to collect it. Works like a charm.
 
Without the actual urine and blood test results, I couldn't say what could be wrong with her.

Do you have those?
 
Yes, I have them but they are in my office. My husband is there so he will bring them home to me tonight. What do you need me to look for?

The actual numbers could tell us how "off" the numbers are.

Most lab test results will show your dog's number and then a normal range next to it.

Also.....with knowing what numbers are not in the normal range, you can get a better idea on what is wrong.
