The boys came home from the vets looking very sorry for themselves yesterday. It was a bit sad and unexpected. Also I didn't realize they wouldn't be able to go for walks for 5 days, and for the next 5 days on the leash only. I was so engrossed in the run-up decision I didn't even think about the immediate aftercare, duh. But for them the worst part is over now.
Piper was walking about and acting normally within a few hours, but Howard is very lethargic still today. They are both getting lots of hugs and treats (even more than usual, lol) and I just hope Howard bounces back soon. We have a neck cone but neither are licking the wound too much, which is good.
It will be interesting to note any behavioral changes although I realize it will be several weeks before the testosterone leaves their bodies. I am feeling better about the decision though... thank you everyone for sharing your thoughts, this has really helped.
