New Agility Turns????????????

[Sorry, I don't know the English terms for all the turns...]
It's an Out / Außen (take the jump from the back) and a small Away / Weg (turn away of the handler), but staying near the handler to go forward with him.
That's what I see on the video... :pop
But it's not really nice. Either the dog jumps into his Handler or he has to slow down a lot, if he isn't already. We would solve this situation with a "Remo" (don't know, how you name it), if we can (!), means to go around the hurdle in front of the dog and then send him backwards. The dog has to know to follow the Hand very close, but it's really tight and there never can be a crash. :wink2:

hrm kind of like a push? Very interesting stuff coming from over there!!

in the handling method I use we never do a flick, or a blind cross... they make my eyes bleed... lol
sometimes it happens unintended and I get grief for it, hahaha
The main thing in the Derret handling system to always turn into your dog... a flick would go exactly against what you spent months of teaching ...
Plus I am too green a handler to go all fancy ;)

As soon as I read this, I thought "Derrett". Because that's exactly what I was taught too. Funny thing, the more I got into agility, the more I started using what worked for us as a team. However, I think it's great to learn a system as a newbie, because it truly helps you learn the rules of handling with all the other crappola you need to learn too. lol. That's why I said, "after awhile" I started using other things....because by then, I had more of a grasp on things. Granted, I'm still told I shouldn't do certain things because Koji doesn't know it (like a blind cross) and I'd agree with that 100%. It makes our recall to heel worse than it already is.

It's *not* a new turn... it just happens to be doing the rounds on various forums. Different people have different names for it but just because a few "new" (Finnish) names are being discussed for some moves these moves are getting more attention than they merit.
Not a bad thing to learn from other perspectives, but it doesn't mean we should all go out & try using these just because some people think they'll look cool.

The example in the video link wasn't the best example to use if you wanted to copy it either :)

e.g. some people have mentioned switch... this is because often a switch coincides with a rear cross or rear cross on the flat & part of this move includes this action after drawing the dog across the handler close to them.
Been doing this already without needing to give it a name.

You definitely have a point. I'm sorry, didn't find better example. The person in the video was obviously trying to learn that move, so it really wasn't precise. The thing is that if handler makes it right, it's a great move. I really like it. There's no crashing or stopping the dog, not really.
Though, i wonder what "Remo" is. Maybe we're talking about the same thing, lol.
