Hello all, my name is Amy and I live in NC with my two shelties. I am a 911 dispatcher the small town I grew up in. My two sheltie babies have totally different personalities.
My first sheltie is Shelby, she is 9 years old. I have had her since she was about 18 months old. She was a stray roaming the neighborhood for several months. No one knew where she came from and she would not let anyone near her. Long story short I started feeding her and she finally started to trust me. She never really has been social and is still very shy. She was diagnosed with cancer in February. She has a large tumor on her thyroid. They can not operate because the area is so vascular. We are not pursuing any other treatment, the prognosis was not good even with treatments. They said it wouldn't treat, just maybe give her a couple of months. This info was from the University of Tennessee.
My newest sheltie baby is Lucky. I got him in July. He is a 6 month old bundle of energy. He loves kids, adults, toys, and other dogs. This is something new to me since Shelby has always been afraid of everything. He is in the coyote looking stage now, and loves to smile. He is very smart and aimed to please learning tricks.
