Deffinatly a sable merle, and so frikkin' cute! That's one the cutest sheltie puppies I've seen in a while.

It's a sable merle. His overall color is a washed-out tan, and there are a few dark sable patches.

If you are planning to breed, be sure that you know your dog's genetics VERY well to avoid the heartbreak of a double merle (i.e. fatal merle cross).

I can't really comment on the coloring, except that it's beautiful and unusual. And a really cute pup!

I didn't know that sable merle could look like that, I thought they looked like a traditional sable, except lighter, almost looking ghost like.
