New sheltie mama

I got my sweet boy, Cinna, at 12 weeks and he is now 18 weeks old. He was about 12 pounds when I got him and is 17 pounds now. Funnily enough, he is not a big eater, and now he is in the lanky looking stage. He is a sable with a white snip at the end of his snout.
Cinna is my first sheltie. I've been dogless since November when my beloved Bichon, Stewart, died after a short illness. I swore I'd never have another dog, as the heartbreak is so terrible, but the house just had no heartbeat without a dog.
I was a pet groomer for 16 years and am looking forward to a dog that does not require a haircut! Also looking forward to some serious brush/comb time.
I'm learning lots on Sheltie Nation, hope to get to know some of you.
Oh, my name is Heather! :smile2:

Nice to meet you Heather and welcome to Sheltie Nation!! I am sincerely sorry to hear of your loss with Stewart, I understand, as everyone here will how hard that can be. Shelties are amazing dogs, you will be so fulfilled with the friendship you will develop with Cinna.

Welcome to the forums. I am sorry about Stewart. Bichons are just nice little dogs.

Look forward to hearing about your adventures with Cinna

Hi and welcome! Sorry for your loss ...it is so true about the house being empty when you lose a beloved fur baby! Looking forward to pics of your new Sheltie baby!
