Hello everyone! I am so excited to have found this forum as we unexpectedly came into our ownership of our Sheltie. We adopted Sarah, who was 3 yesterday, just last week! She is already so well trained and is a wonderful addition to our family.

A little about me: My husband and I currently work in the field of special education in Virginia. We have two kids, 14 and 16, and now Sarah! I am excited to learn more about Shelties and get to know everyone here. :biggrin2:

Welcome to the forum. Sarah is beautiful. Congrats on bringing her to your home. It sounds like she is one lucky Sheltie to be with you and your family. Thanks for the photo and enjoy the forum.

Thank you for the welcome! I have a puppy tale: Her previous owner didn't take great care of her, and let her free feed out of a huge container of Kibbles 'n Bits. Needless to say she is a little "fluffy." :eek2: We have been working on that by changing her diet, and her access, but also by exercising her. She loves to cuddle on the couch, (where she is right now, actually), but we make her work for it. The first few days we had to help her up, but now she can do it on her own. She will look at us at first like, "Aren't you going to help?" We ignore that and keep encouraging her, and she has to back up and get a running start, but now she can make it all on her own! The running start is so funny as she laps the coffee table first, then makes a run for it. She has already started to lose weight, which is a relief. Sorry if that is a bit long.

Sarah is a beauty, I love her name also. I too am a new sheltie mommy to a 5 year old. Looking forward to hearing about her.

Hello from South Philly,

Sarah is a beautiful girl. Did you know that Sarah is a Hebrew name which translates into Princess. It fits don't you think?
