Heck! I get tackled when I'm just pouring kibble into their bowls! Can't imagine what would happen if I served up the goodies you dish out!

I expect they would have me flat on my face!Dusty has been ringing the go out bell several times a day,and scavenging for grass under the snow. I am now giving her three frozen brussel sprouts after she eats her kibble. She loves them! rolls them around with her paws and peels them as they thaw out.
Is there any reason why shelties should not have brussel sprouts?

Ooh, I love frozen brussel sprouts (dont ask me why, they just taste nicer than the fresh ones). Can't see any problem with any cabbage type plants - just dont cook em too long or give em too many or stinky pants!

Jake the Dog just had his first brussel sprout yesterday. I don't think he took to the time to actually taste it. And he has been gassy for the past 24 hours as well. Nothing like adding fuel to the fire.
Regarding the herb/omni/carnivore question. I was always told that animals with eyes toward the front of their faces (hunters) were meat-eaters as that eye configuration increases the ability to judge distances better. (Both eyes can see the same object.) Animals with eyes on the sides (prey) use that configuration to watch out for hunters (they have larger periphery vision) and were themselves herbivores. Consider the diets of chickadees vs. hawks.
Where omnivores fit it, I'm not sure. But it seems like most carnivores eat at least some veggies here and there. They just don't talk about it in public for ego-related reasons.

Ania that is funny to hear you say a fur store, bet it is an interesting place. For those of you that home cook what do you make?
I used to cook for Katie so she would get added nutrition. Chicken and cancer fighting veggies, I blended them up in a blender and added it to her kibble. I add some cooked chicken to Zak and Maggies food a few times a week.
My vet did say to be carful of the baby carrots unless I shreed them or chop them up. They can get caught in the digestive track.
