I think I have seen it all now for on line courses.Someone is doing Living Room Agility with common household items from April 15th to May 15th for $75.00 a dog or Auditors for $50.00..If I was going to do a on line course and I had the bucks for it it would be for someone like Linda M. or Daisy Peel.

), then I think it's a great idea!
I think it would be a lot of fun to practice agility with household items. I don't know the details, but it sounds like it could be a very enjoyable and imaginative class.
It's probably not for everyone, especially those who are highly competitive, but for someone like me, who is always looking for something new and fun to train my dog around the house, it would be perfect.

Having done Sylvia Trkmans Puppy tricks class with my cocker spaniel I have to say the online courses are great, if you have the time for them. A normal class you have to set aside the time to go and do it I found it difficult with the online course to make sure I kept up!
I've got her Cik/Cap turns DVD also and I found that much easier as I could work at my pace when I had the time etc.

Have no clue what Linda or Daisy Peel would charge for an on line course.Certainly not $5,000 like Susan Garrett would charge.But for something like Living room agaility I can't see where I would waste that money when I could be in a class.That 75.00 would pay for 2 days of AKC trial for me.

Wow, what a marvelous idea! I think it could be great course for many. If you think about it great deal can be done in living room with common items. ST and SG both teach a lot of various skills using housenhold items. For example ST teaches rear end awareness by putting drawers on the floor and teaches teeter bang game by teaching dog to close cabinet doors. SG teaches a lot of things out of crate such as start line stays, and tight turns by placing standing pole covered with swimming "noodle" next to crate. And all contact games taught on stairs. Not to mention one jump DVD where with one jump one can learn 90% of agility
I know many beginners ask questions " how do I start" and some live in distant areas with no classes avail nearby.
If nothing else it will help to develop great relationship with your dog.

I have to agree, online courses are great! You do have to keep up and find time just as you would for regular classes but much more can be done at own timeframe. Considering that one saves on traveling time and gas it is really not that much an investment, and cosidering how much $$ goes into entering trials I have seen many people skipping on few trials to take a class...
Another thing that many do not realize that community of people that creates that class sometimes as equally valuable as class itself.

Out of curiosity I went to check.
Daisy Peel's agility foundation class is $185 for a working spot, $105 for an auditing one.
Linda M's classes are all $200 for a working spot, $125 for an auditing one.
Very reasonably priced.
For me, I rely on online classes and DVDs a lot coz there aren't any trainers here that are of that level and caliber. I would love to go to a camp or something to get hands on training and feedback!!
Same here, being a teacher it means I can't get time off only weekends or school holidays and not many courses are near me meaning I can't make many long distance weekends. I'd happily not enter some shows and spend the cash an an accessible course or DVD course.
The feedback on the ST courses would be great, I struggle with truly conditioning behaviour without lures as I haven't had training or experience so any feedback would be brilliant. I do film all my training sessions so I can look back at them and try and learn though, that really helps!
Perhaps we could set up a mini accross world training group on the forum?
Pick something to teach our Shelties something simple to start like shaking their head "no" (when mine gets here I'll join in!) and post the training videos and get hints and tips/ commentary from others on the videos.
I'll bet we'll have a wealth of expertise here which would be almost as useful as spending all that money on a course.

I love that idea!
I think as long as everyone realizes that there are many different ways to do everything--ie everyone must be open minded, or at least know enough to say "that's not how I want to do it".
I've found that hearing different ideas and opinions has really helped me--even if it's just to realize that that's not the best approach for me and my dog.
