Thanks, folks. Nice forum here, for sure. He's been so much fun for the family. We have 5 kids (16 down to 6) so Rusty get's plenty of play time in the yard. This "sleeping event" came after his first experience with deep snow. All that jumping just to move around really drained him of all his energy.

He has been a treat, for sure. We are still adjusting to the constant "oh no, he's got someone's sock" or "hey, is that underwear?" . My kids are just finally appreciating how difficult it is for parents that they leave clothing laying around, cause if its on the floor, Rusty will find it and destroy it.

My favorite is how he is quickly learning that kids are notoriously messy eaters and he will "vacuum" under their chairs as soon as he gets a chance. We have to remind the kids of the dangers of human food for him, but a few bread crumbs here and there inevitably fall--regardless of all our monitoring tactics.

He looks adorable. I love when they sleep like that! Just a suggestion, you might want to protect your beautiful hardwood floor, and put down an inexpensive piece of sheet linoleum under your xpen. You can get it at Home Depot or Lowes, around $29 for a 6x8 foot piece. Cuts with scissors.
