Hi everyone,

Just bought my first bags of Acana for Blaze can't wait to try this recommended food.

Since last weeks vomitting he is much better but bloodwork will be redone next week to ensure all is well. He seems his normal happy self;

While at the dog boutique they offered an oral care product I wanted to seek opinions prior to consideration. Have any of you tried PetzLife for tartar control; if so is it safe to use and does it work?

Opinions please!

PetzLife has something that is like alcohol in it and has caused the liver readings of dogs to go up. That's what I read anyway! Someone else might have a better understanding!

I have 4 dogs..3 of which are shelties. My oldest is Trapp. Out of all of them,I found it did not work as I wanted it to. Another issue I had with it,it has an odor.

Which upon looking at the water bowl, and the fact they would not drink out of it,tells me they were not getting water in thier mouths. So unfortuneately, for us it was a no go.

Trapp is the one that has teeth issues. We brush teeth here 2x a day,and he still has plaque. So...he will be going in for a dental soon.
Start early, get the dog used to a complete brushing regimine, offer CET dental chews, and keep the dog on a good regime of oral care.
I know Trapp's mom,has dental issues...hereditary? Probably.

Jasper has same dad, differant mom,and his teeth are wonderful.

It didn't seem to work and the dogs hated.

I've started to use this product called Plaqueoff and it seems to be working. The thing is that it takes time and I told myself that I would try it out an entire bottle before I give it the thumbs up. It has really good reviews and I found out about it from friends who show dogs.

Thanks for saving me the trouble!

Okay advice taken,

I will save my money and try the Plaqueoff first...but will wait until Blaze has been diagnosed with whatever problem he has and deal with it before trying anything new..

cheers everyone!

I'm using this on my four too. I've also heard raves about it. It hasn't been long enough for me to tell if it's working here but I'm hopeful. It seems expensive at first glance but you only add a teeny bit to their food each day so it lasts forever, even with four!

Thanks I bought some through E-bay - cheap compared to store prices...
