Patchy hair loss every summer - Skin allergy?

OK, I'm in shock right now. I'm reading through this thread and begin the post by NLys and see the dogs names, Lily and Piper! That is my daughter and my grand-dogs!! I had no idea she's ever been on the site and she didn't say anything about it. We talked the other day about her vet visit for the girls. Ointment, shampoo, etc. I have to go call her. She didn't tell me she was on Sheltie Nation.

That's so funny Suzie. When you talk to her can you ask her what kind of ointment the vet gave her or suggested? I'd appreciate it.

Treatment

The Vet gave me:
Cephalexin 500mg (which is an anti-biotic)
Temaril-P (which is a steroid/antihistimine that helps the itching)
Dermazole which is an anti-septic shampoo

I will add that Nikki said the dogs seem alot more comfortable now. Piper would chew on her spots and that seems to be subsiding too.

Gypsy is on Ditrim antibiotic,Genesis spray for itching and the same shampoo. Is temoril-p the ointment? I'll have to ask my vet about that. Thanks I hope that they are healed soon. it's been a battle with Gypsy.
