Play police?

Does anyone else have a sheltie that just has to make sure the other dogs at the park are playing nicely? Mac insists on breaking it up when a smaller or less aggressive dog is getting picked on. He gets In between, pushes the aggressor away and gives him/her a piece of his mind. When they back off, he goes about his other business with me. If a group of dogs are getting in to it, he circles, barks, then plunges in to try to break it up, pushing dogs out of the way as he goes.

But try to take for a walk in the dark and he spooks at shadows. Go figure!

I once saw a goat do this at a petting zoo, and it was absolutely hilarious to watch!

Dickens will bark in similar circumstances and circle around the "combatants," but otherwise doesn't interfere. He's like Larry of the Three Stooges, hovering about anxiously while Moe and Curly mix it up.

Justice the fun police lives here. Our becomes a problem sometimes though cause if they don't listen he gets physical. Therefore I don't let him practice it.
