potty training - nighttime

hey everyone.
so luna does really well. she goes to bed and wakes up around 6 whining to go pee. and she goes perfectly outside at that point, right away. now i want her to go back to sleep so we can wake up around 730 afterwards. but she obviously after sleeping well, and going to the bathroom outside she wants to stay up ! After going pee in the middle of the night should she be played with? Or should i make a little kong toy up with some of her breakfast she can play with in her crate? Or should she just be left to fall back asleep? I don't want her to feel bummed out after doing the right thing and getting put back to bed, but i also don't want her to be the boss and have her learn that she doesn't have to stay up during the night. any tips and tricks???

Hi. If your puppy wakes in the middle of the night to go out to pee, just praise her for going out instead of having an accident inside. Then yes, she needs to go back to sleep, without a treat toy in my opinion. Maybe a quick, very small treat- see how that goes. Otherwise you are right- she will have control if you play with her afterwards. Pup has to know that in the middle of the night there is no playing. Isn't it fun!!!!

I would always put mine right back in the crate, did not even let them walk inside I would just carry them right back to their crate. I would put him back in there after the 6:00 potty and he may fuss but he will get the idea that you stay in bed till 7:30.
