My little Katie Diva, who just turned 16 last week, was diagnosed with TCC about 2 months ago. She has been on Piroxicam and was doing well until last week, when she ate about half her dinner, threw up, and had loose bloody poop. Off to the vet, and we weren't sure if she had a gastritis and a lower UTI (she was sqatting frequently to pee) so she got an antibiotic injection, sub-Q fluids and some anti-nausea meds. She ate again on Saturday and Sunday, no further vomiting, and poop was looking normal. Last night she barely ate her dinner but did eat a few pieces of chicken and took her meds (in a cheese ball). This morning, she refused her meds and her favorite treat. I fear that it may be getting to that time....we'll see how she does tonight. She has been off the piroxicam since that episode. She otherwise seemed OK - bouncing and barking at another dog/bicycle on her walks. She is my honey girl and my first rescue sheltie. We have had 11 wonderful years with her. Am hoping this episode will pass....but we are fully aware of the inevitable. Thank God we have Laddie at home. Just taking every day as it comes.
