Oh and he definitely has more energy as he has started to chase Angus most nights or at a minimum play the push game (which generally turns into chasing)

it's always a challenge to find a good vet. Prayers you have found another. What part of Tennessee are you thinking of making too? We are looking at Knoxville. So President Spitfire went to the vet (sadly she is leaving and going to Chicago so I will have to find a new vet). He got a clean bill of health for his term except fat and a urinary infection. After a couple of days of antibiotics and his continuing dieting (he is down almost 1lb) he has spunked up and is going wild. Still wears down as he is 9 but I can see I will be in trouble when he gets to 25lbs.

I hear you about the weight! Blueberry was 17.6 pounds at her last vet visit and almost full grown, definitely a tad on the chubby side. I’ve got her on a raw diet so I cut back just a wee bit and she’s lost some of the pudge. Lots of energy with her though, not a lazy bone in her body!Great news on the weight loss! It is SO hard! You must look SOOOO handsome Spitfire and all your minions will look up to you as you strut your new bod!
Brodie at 15 1/2 inches was up to 26 lbs 12 oz - WAY over weight. We stopped mot forms of treats and stick to bully sticks, homemade treats, wagggy wafers broken into 6 - 9 pieces so just getting a sliver. No more dried fish skins, dried hot dogs, we even cut most potty treats! Oh that shame!!! Before he got sick he was down to 19 lbs 2 oz - he did gain back a pound when sick with no agility, crate rest, no walks, no play time but I am positive we can work that off him now that he is back to walks (on cooler days) and frisbee and is working his way back to getting in shape to return to agility.
Deacon, at 14 1/4 inches, weighs 18 lbs 2 oz. He is our true sausage dog! And he is lazy to boot! He loves walks so long as we do half walks, if we decided to go on a long walk, once he realizes we are headed UP the hill on our street, he lags all the way behind and literally drags himself the rest of the way. He doesn't have the energy, psycho craziness that Brodie has, he sometimes chases Brodie, he sometimes will play fetch (maybe one or two returns during a play session if you are lucky) but he seems to be of the attitude of 'if I return it to her, she's going to throw it again and I'm going to have to go get it' where Brodie is a never ending chorus demanding THROW it, THROW it!!!! He might be my rally dog, not sure he'd be too excited about agility - it's work! He does need to loose some weight but he is still a developing puppy.

I vote for that25 pounds??? Your wasting away Mr President!
You must draft a bill that allows you to eat as much as you want, anyone that attempts to stop you must be charged with mutiny!!!
