Puppy Dreams

Callie occasionally makes noise while sleeping- Happy makes all the sounds and the snoring. Lucky for me- not all the time or I'd never get enough sleep. Callie never sleeps on her back- the only time I see her belly is when I pick her up and turn her over.

Nothing....they take after me...once we all fall asleep, we're dead as doornails!

Bacca more than any of us. Most mornings, he won't even get up when I get up to let Indy out. He doesn't even lift his head!

I'll trade you a female mahogany sable for Bacca :wink2:- Callie is the one to wake up first- sometimes before the sun. She doesn't make tons of noise- but enough to wake me up before my alarm goes off. Happy is content to stay in bed until it's time to get up :smile2:

No deal!

Though I have to admit to being tempted for a moment. The problem with me and my pups being comatose sleepers, is that I worry that just about anyone could break into the house and crawl into bed next to us, and we wouldn't even know it. We'd all just wake up, spooned up against some total stranger....! :eek2::biggrin2:

Happy is not a comatose sleeper- he's just willing to wait until I get up so no worries there :wink2:

McKinley sleeps on his back when he is on the bed, which I find rather odd and almost disturbing, for I have never had a dog do this before.

Just in the last day or two, when he is on the floor, he sleeps curled up in a tight little ball with his tail tucked over his nose. Ron laughes at me, because I think he is cold, so I take his crate blanket and lay it over him, but we have noticed that he opens up a bit and does not crawl out from underneath it, so maybe he really is cold.

His little paws move alot while he is sleeping. He's not verbal though at sleep, thank goodness! He talks enough when he is awake!

If McKinley is sleeping on his back feel great !! Because no animal will sleep on their back the most vulnerable position unless they are feeling very secure !!

I had some good pictures of my boys sleeping next to each other... but my mini-SD card crashed and I lost all the pictures of the past week. I nearly cried!

Anyway, mine are starting to snuggle if no one is paying attention. I think it is a good sign that they will share a blanket or a pillow with ease. The longer Duncan is here, the vaguer Pierre's memories of being an only child are.

Sleeping heavy is a good thing! Everybody needs that REM sleep. Funny thing is - I can sleep right through an alarm clock, but my DH jumps up at the first beep. However, if Duncan whines to go potty at 3 am, I'm up in a flash and he doesn't even remember it. Funny how biology plays a roll. I've got all that maternal instinct, and he has the 'bring home the bacon' mentality. I suppose that works for us because at the moment, he has the job and I'm our pups' primary caregiver.

Mine lay on their backs at times, I think they are just cooling off and airing themselves. Otherwise no noise out of them unless Lady hears a deer, then we all know she heard something out there.

Lucky will sleep at the end of our bed. Lady comes up lays her head on my pillow. She wakes me up to massage her by tickling my nose with her whiskers. Little head goes bace and forth, and you wake up with sheltie eyes with whiskers in your face.

At the foot of the bed she has her favorite toys there, if I take them downstairs she brings them up and places them back on the bed. I have no idea what this is about, because she doesn't play with them at night. She loves to throw them down the stairs. That thump thump. Before we have our caffiene in the morning coming down the stairs, its watch it, there is always a toy on a step. No those she doesn't pick those up.

Smudge is an early riser. 6:00 sharp for him, please. Good thing I work graveyard, otherwise we might not get along so well. He always sleeps with the light on, because somebody at our house is always awake and at home. He used to shake and twitch in his sleep, but he grew out of it. I'm glad, because it was freaking me out.

For the first few nights, Duncan was consistent with his schedule, but lately, he's been everywhere. The night before last, he was up three times with potties every time. I am grateful he whined to get me up, but some sleep would have been nice. Last night, only twice.

So... I caught the boys sharing Pierre's blanket. My mum made Pierre a special blanket after we got him (Duncan's is in the process). And all the toys strewn about, well, I think they like that.

And the cutest one! Last night, Duncan decided he was too tired to stay up while we ate our yummy dessert (I made Bananas Foster and actually lit it on fire... was fun and tasty).
