Puppy Limping

Dash is 17 weeks old and he is limping.

Well, not exactly limping. When he walks, his rear left foot turns to the side as he steps off that foot. When it is extended, it is turned so the outside of the foot is bearing weight and the inside is not. It makes the foot kind of 'wiggle' when he walks.

He's still trying to run around and play and doing the zoomies around the yard, so I don't think it hurts him. Which ironically makes me more worried that it could be something more serious than an injury.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? (Does it even make sense? I'm having a hard time describing it).

Normally with injuries or possible injuries, I like to give it a couple of days to see what happens, unless the dog appears to be in a lot of pain. But showing no pain at all while having a gait that is all wrong is worrying me.

No one has seen anything like this? No thoughts on what it might be? Anything? I'm quite worried and can't seem to find anything at all online that looks relevant.

Seeing vet today because Blaze at 6 months has been limping on and off for four days now. He STILL wants to do zoomies and practically explodes out the back door to jump off the deck if I don't watch him.

Mainly the limp is after naps, when waking up in the morning, and in the evening. Have no idea what the little bugger did. On Wednesday he was zooming around so bad in the house I though he was going to hurt himself and he took a nice long walk without limping on Wednesday afternoon and then .... Is it an injury that requires rest or is it something else and what else (if it's bad news I don't think I want to know.)

Okay, if you are a worry-wart like me, check with your vet. (I have no idea how I managed to wait so long for things to quiet down so far. When it comes to my furbaby, I want a solution like yesterday.)

Best wishes for YOUR furbaby.
