It's kind of to each his own I suppose and I still feel like if Iams works for a dog, so be it! Dogs have been living off of a lot worse for hundreds of years.

Ref the ever-present food debate:
We fed my Cocker Spaniel Purina in 1962. She lived 16 years.
We fed Bear the Big Red Dog Nutro in the 90s.. He lived to 13.
We feed Orijen now. We're hoping for 102.
But as you can see, there's more to it than the food. There's genes, the environment, etc. I figure that in the grand scheme of things, you choose what is available, affordable, suits your dog, and what you're happy with.
My advice: do research, choose, and chill.
