Inquiring minds want to know?

Do Shelties always have white feet regardless of colour? I'm not talking about nails nails, but the fur

It seems to me that they do, though some (like my Bacca) has a few "freckles"

And is there a standard around foot colouring?

No not always. Although Ive only seen it in biblacks with no white feet...hmmm maybe its a bi-black only thing??? hmm inquiring minds need to know...Since I only have sables...
although now that I think of it there is a sable that has a brown foot...let me think who it is...I think its a local one...let me see if I can search it down...ohh boy now you've got me thinking barb :lol:

I've seen some bi-blacks, and know of two sables with a solid brown leg. I've also produced a tri pup with an all tan/black leg (out of a very bi-black with very minimal white). To me, it just doesn't look right :x

Everyone LOVES Trapps freckles on his foot! We get more comments on his legs colorings,as he has one mostly all white leg,and one half & half.It looks like he has a glove half put on!

Ripley's littermate, a tri, has one foot that is black/tan with no white on it...I'll see if I have a picture...

Hmmm interesting question Barb. I've only seen Shelties with white feet.

I think Aztec had a littermate with an all tan foot except for the very tips of the toes. Other then that, I have only seen bi-blacks with colored feet.

My friend recently got Aztec's half-brother...he is about 8 weeks...I haven't gotten to see him yet, but apparently he has hardly any white on his feet.

Sadie and Ginny are both sables and both have white feet. Sadie's feet have freckles though, which she gets from her Dad, who was a Tri.

Sadie's Mom has one foot that is all tan. Here is a photo of her:

This makes me sad! I "think" Cleveland's back right paw was tan. I can't remember and am having a hard time telling from pictures.
