Quiet coffee time

Piper's mom

Moderator
First cup of coffee early in the morning and the dogs enjoyed the peaceful solitude.

Blueberry did have her vet visit, perfectly healthy, perfect blood work. I told the vet about discovering Blueberry’s allergy to sand and this was a new one for her to hear about. Blueberry still has some discolouration on her back paws but it’s just fur that she hasn't shed yet…she’s not bothering with them anymore.

I’ve taken to giving Piper a cracker from the bedroom nightstand once again…he seems a bit depressed of late (I think he’s missing my mom) and figured he deserves it, he does get quite the kick out of it.
Last night I gave him a cracker…then 10 minutes later he wanted another one. I told him I’ll give you another cracker tomorrow morning and he got up and walked to my side of the bed like I was going to give him one right then! So I guess just saying cracker means NOW.😆
I don’t like seeing Piper sad…once the funeral is done (tomorrow) and things settle down I’m going to get Piper into a tricks class. I figure he loves to work and it’ll help make him happy.

On the plus side I’m this close to having no further contact with my one sister and I have been speaking to my other sister (her twin). It’s been nice and my mom would be happy. We’ll be getting together later this evening to get things ready for tomorrow and we’ll get together to reminisce and look at photos…I’m looking forward to that.

Haha I've tried the ol "I gave you one already or you have just eaten supper" thing over and over and they still pretend they don't understand, and give me the ol "I have never been fed or given a treat." routine. they know what that look does to our guilty conscience.

Sending you good thoughts for an easy day tomorrow with nothing but warm memories of your Mom. I know it won’t be easy but you’ll get through it. :hugs
It was a lovely service Ann and while it took me a while to read the eulogy I did it proudly and spoke clearly. My mom would have loved it. I told her story in such a way that people knew her by the time I was done.
At the grave site when the priest was saying goodbye to my mom an incredible wind came out of nowhere…almost like she was saying goodbye.

I second Sharon’s thoughts, Lisa. I’m glad today was what you wanted it to be and don’t discount that wind. What a special sign! Now give yourself time to catch your breath and relax with your pups. :hugs
