Here's what I gather -- People think to wash their hands and be extra careful when handling raw meat because they know the associated risks. However, when feed bagged pet food, they don't think the same risks apply and don't wash their hands or the area the food has touched and they get sick. That's what I gather.
I get the people part.
It is the dog part I don't get.
Why is salmonella ok for the dogs to eat when it is in RAW food, but not when it is in commercial food.

I do think there is a little bit of hysteria going on. Diamond has been pretty proactive about doing voluntary recalls on their product.
