Rescued in Brooklyn from Hoarding situation

These poor pups have been rescued in Brooklyn from a hoarding situation that has been going on for years. It states complaints had been made in previous years. What took them so long. These poor pups. So happy they are safe now. God Bless all who helped.

I'm so happy for those dear Shelties -- saved at last! Many -- esp elderly -- hoarders just don't uderstand their own illness. That said, thank heavens it's finally been stopped!

I saw a lot of pictures on Facebook and it made my heart hurt. The dogs have never had electricity, and have never seen the light of day.

I can't believe that no one said anything sooner. That just goes to show that if you suspect wrong doing--speak up!

I saw it on FB too last night; my heart went out for the poor things. The Houston rescue had gotten 8 dogs that had been removed from the home last year and the poor things were in such bad shape, they were afraid of a tweeting bird.

Ghastly. I know these type of people are mentally ill but truly, in what universe could it be OK to lock up your animals with no water? They absolutely must pay for the abuse of these creatures, and never be allowed to have any kind of animal again.

I hear lots of sketchy stories at the shelter where I volunteer but the hoarders.... I just shake my head and am speechless.

Thank God they are all out of there now. May they all get good patient homes.

Our NCSR coordinator said this isn't the first time these people have abused Shelties. Last year NCSR and other rescues in NY and NJ got a bunch of their dogs. My heart goes out to these poor animals who may never truly adjust to a normal life after being kept in the dark and cold. I plan to hug all three of mine the minute I get home.

Finally free! Their sheltieness can begin now. Poor little guys. For all of the poor shelties suffering in filthy, cold puppymills - you are not forgotten - it is just taking longer to rescue you and to change laws.

They rescued how many Shelties a year or so ago and now they had this many again? I am glad they were taken from them, but cynically I wonder how soon they will have more.

Went to the facebook page mentioned above and in the comments section saw a link to a hoarding of shelties in 2010. I do not think I will ever get over the video I watched. That person needed to be jailed and never allowed to have animals. The whole story is unbelievable. I will be haunted by this video for a long, long time.
