Sable 3 1/2 month old male Sheltie Pup to good home ONLY

Hey Guys,
It's sad that my first post on this fourm is to find a sheltie puppy a home.

My name is Josie, I am a Groomer at Waldorf Maryland PETCO. I own a Beautiful about to be two year old female Sheltie named Jigi.
Whenever a sheltie walks in of course I coming running over!
About a month I met a man with this puppy and I let jigi play with the baby and of course told him about all the crazy and fun things owning a sheltie will bring you. I saw him in the store and chatted with him a couple more times and give Koby (the Pup) His first groom.
I was closing tonight when the man came in looking for me. Its was about 20 mins before i was about to leave when he asked me if i knew anyone who would take koby because his apartment complex would no longer let him keep koby. Apparently there were multiple complaints about his barking. I told him I could call around in the morning to other sheltie people I know. Well that wasn't soon enough. So it was either the pound or my house, well He's at my house of course being hidden from my roommate. I need to find him a loving home who knows how to properly take care of shetland sheepdogs AND WILL KEEP IN TOUCH! He does bark but i believe it's because he did not receive enough attention. He gets along with Jigi very well, he seems to like dogs more than people. A home with a lots of love will turn that around, I'm already forcing love and kisses on him!
He was born May 4th of this year. He comes with Papers, his harness and leash, his bowls, a brush and two toys. Not spoiled at all :cry: The Guy also give me a shetland sheepdog book but if you need it, you are not the right home for koby. At the moment he is eating Blue buffalo .
He doesn't seem to know his name so i have been calling him george.

Need to find a Home ASAP since like i said I am hiding him from my roommate.
 
Poor little puppy. God bless you for opening your home to him, even if it is on a temporary basis. If worse comes to worse and absolutely can not keep him, you might consider contacting your local sheltie rescue, and allowing them to place the puppy. Such a young dog should have no problem finding a great home. Another thing you could think about would be contacting the puppy's breeder. Most reputable breeders will take their dogs back if ever there is a problem and find them a new home.

I agree with Whitney. If he didn't come from a pet store try contacting the breeder. If you can't or they won't take him back the next best thing is Sheltie Rescue. I don't know how close the nearest rescue is to you but often times even if it's quite far they will work with other rescues or they have a network of volunteers that can pick up the dog and get it to them.

With rescue he will be well cared by people who know Shelties until they find a placement for him. My bet is he won't be in rescue long,puppies are usually fairly easy to place.

Good luck finding a home for this little guy. (I'll find myself without a husband if I bring home another dog, and we only have 2.)

I agree with the others, contact the breeder first. If they are a reputable breeder, they will want him back. If that doesn't work, contact a local Sheltie Rescue.

We have a few members from Maryland who may be able to point you toward a rescue or two in Maryland or one of the neighboring states depending on what part of Maryland you are in.
 
I tried googling the breeder that is named on his papers but nothing comes up. I have one lead on good home but if not there is a small Sheltie rescue about 45 mins away. If that rescue wont take him the next closest is over 2 hours away :dead:
