Sanitary Clip

My puppy, Sabrina, is 6-1/2 mths old now and her hair is really coming in along the back of her hind legs. She has pants now :winkgrin: I would like to give her a sanitary clip so she does not get any cling-ons. I didn't find any you-tube videos showing this procedure on a Sheltie.
I do a sanitary clip on my Persian cat (in between groomer appts) and I use scissors. I don't want to take too much off my Sheltie. I can use clippers also, I have enough experience with clippers to do a decent job. With the cat it is just easier to use the scissors since she will stand there nicely while I do it. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
 
I use thinning shears so it doesn't look all chopped up. I tend to thin out the cotton pants periodically.

Like Chris - I have done the same thing several times on Minnie :yes::yes: -- I just call it a "GSD butt" :lol:
 
We do just a poop chute with straight edge scissors. Going to try thinning shears when they get here.

Her tail covers it. I do a little bit of a cut on the underside of the base of her tail, and then trim about 2 inches down her rear. I trim to make it wider the closer to her evacuation zone, and narrower to blend into the rest of her pants. No one can tell except when either DH or I do a poop check before bed time LOL. :)

Chris's term for poop chute will be a term that lasts forever. Yes I take a scissors
and cut the shelties short. Otherwise I would be wiping butts, but I still check, its
a habit.
