Sheltie height/weight at 5, 6 months and maturity.

My New Boy

I bought my bi blue boy at five months of age. That was last Friday. So far he measures right at 12 ins. at the shoulder and is 12 lbs.

It should be illegal to be so darn cute.

Will update with new heights as soon as he turns 6 mos.

Destin, my biblue, was 11 lbs and between 12-13" at the shoulder at 6 months.
At 18 months, he's about 14-15 lbs and 14".

At 10 months, Callan was 21.8 lbs. That was two week ago. I just weighed him again and he gained another .2 ounces

Two months earlier he was at 19.8 pounds.

I am watching his weight closely. I can't measure his size accurately, but I put him at between 15-16 inches He has tiny bones though, so I concerned about him overeating. I don't feed him a lot of treats. But he does get a small bite of beef lung when I leave for work, and one dental treat when I get home (e.g. a 3-4 inch pizzle or Whimzee) It takes him a hour or more to work through that.

I feed him 1/2 cup of dry food per day, twice per day with a tablespoon of wet food.

I might start cutting down his kibble soon, or switching him to adult food with less fat. He is currently on TOTW HigH Prarie Puppy. As he is getting snipped this week, that probably makes ssense.
 
Hello, I'm new at the forum and my puppy Marvin has almost 5 months. Actually, he'll complete five at january 20. :smile2:

And he already weighs 18,3 pounds! I'm not sure if he's overweigh, for me it looks nice. :hugs

Is it within the standard measures? Anyone knows?

The chart will give you overall for adult dogs (and in the last year we've been pulling out the under 12mth dogs separately). Length will influence weight but generally the chart is a good indicator.

Keep in mind that a dog under 12 months should weigh less than an adult of the same height, not having built up the muscle bulk and bone density of an adult.
 
Lacey is 7 months old and weighed 13 pounds at the vet last week. I don't know how tall she is, but she is much smaller than Dawn's girls, so maybe 12" at the most right now. She is going to be a little one, but she sure is feisty.
 
Enzo at 10 months is 14.5" (GROAN--agility reference), and weighs just about 12 lbs. He could weigh a bit more, I'd like to see him closer to 14 lbs.

I don't know the length of my puppy but I can feel his ribs, so I think he's ok. :smile2:
