Sheltie Rescue Picnic - NJ

I will be there! :biggrin2:

Great! It will be wonderful to meet you. I am pretty sure that I will bring one of the setters, so that we stand out. Randi went last year and so did Simcha, so hopefully they will still be able to make it this year. I live only a few miles away from there.

I'm really looking forward to it! As it gets closer, I can tell you what identifying pieces of clothing I'll plan to wear. :wink2:

BTW, maybe you can PM me about this, but is there anything I can do to help out? I plan on bringing cash for the "tricky tray" (this I gotta try!), but I won't have a dog with me, so I'll have extra hands if you need them. I know the picnic is for a great cause, so I'm happy to help if I can.

I still plan on going. Can't wait to see all the shelties again.

Definitely bring cash. There were some nice raffles last year. Hand painted sheltie ornaments, decorations and a mail box.

They don't sell food, so definitely bring some snacks along if you would like. That is about it...sometimes they can use some people to act as a "crowd" for the TDI and CGC testing, but you can just volunteer for that at the time. I will know quite a few people there, so it will be neat to have everyone together. We participate in the costume contest and that is about it. The raffle is a lot of fun. Terry, a friend of mine from the rescue hand painted some items that were gorgeous for the raffle. Terry is the gal that gave Ontariosheltie some rehabilitation tips for Sadie and also is currently fostering Bailey's mom. BTW.....I wonder if she will bring her there? That would be fun for Bailey to see her mommy.

Good tips. Danielle is right. There is no food, so pack a sandwich, snacks and a drink. Also, a chair, if you don't want to stand the whole time.

I was hoping Bailey's mom would've been adopted by now :( I would love to get a picture of Bailey and her mom and see if Bailey recognizes her.

I will check with Terry. I haven't spoken to her in a couple of weeks.

Oh man, I REALLY REALLY wish I could go! I'd love to meet you guys and Terry and show you how good Sadie's been doing!

The picnic is in Flemington, NJ. If you go to some travel sites, like cheaptickets, orbitz, etc, you'll be able to find some motels/hotels.

Danielle is more familiar with the area, so she'll be able to help you out.

It'll be awesome if you could attend!
