sheltie sizes

Just went to the vet in the past couple of days.

Duncan - 13" (barely now that he is all done growing and his shoulders have settled down) and 9.8 lbs. The vet did say he was technically underweight, but apparently since he is an athlete, he would prefer him there rather than over. And he said "Dogs who are just underweight live longer." My Duncan is built like an Italian Greyhound!

Abigail - 18" and 24.8 lbs. Vet loves this weight for her. He said she was perfect. She is leanly built already but her muscle tone is really nice.
 
Big pup!

Maverick weighed 20lbs at his 16wk checkup. I think he's going to be one big sheltie!!! (He was double the size of his sis when I got him at 7wk, 8lbs.)
 
Callan at 22 weeks is 14.6 pounds and I think a little less than 13 inches....hard to measure height because he wiggles so much.....I think he will ultimately come in size....I just have to manage his weight a little
 
Welcome Ashbrooke -- I will race you for the biggest pup in the end. . . I am hoping we don't go over 18" but I have a feeling we are going to be 21" which is almost as big as my shepherd mix.

11 weeks, 12 inches, 9 pounds.
11 1/2 weeks, 13 inches, 9.8 pounds.

Jeez.
 
The biggest I've seen was a little over 20" the smallest, 8". But, just in case you didn't know, the big difference of collies vs shelties in the look wise that you can tell which is which is if you look at their nose. Collies noses go straight out of their head, shelties have a stop. If you post a head shot (upload it on another site and put in the link) we can better help you with that. But it does sound like a big sheltie. My boy is 17 3/4ths and people always tell me either he's a board collie, small collie or a large sheltie. Though, a lot of them still get it right. It's impressive.

Wow. Enzo is about 12" and weighs around 8 lbs at 18 weeks.
 
Dickens was a big one. At three months, 12 inches and 13 pounds. He's grown out to 20.5 inches and 43 pounds and has stayed that way since eleven months

Ugh! Good thing I like collies too! Yes, Cubby is sheltie. He's got the head stop and the pedigree to prove it. Melli has short legs, Cubby's are kind of longer. Better for navigating the stairs! He will move beautifully as he is already trotting nicely when he is not zooming.

Yep, I got me a ginormous, rangy, raccoon-eyed, dark blazed, shaded like a wild boar piglet, pet quality, smart, outgoing, possibly future prick-eared, sheltie and I wouldn't have it any other way.

He can use Shay's hand-me downs which will be great.
