Shelties are like potato chips, one is never enough

It's nice to read that others were touched by Dottie's story as well. Her foster mom says she is the sweetest little girl. Even after being through so much, her attitude is so good. I just think that speaks volumes about her.

I can't wait for her to come home!!
 
My stomach is turning right now. I just looked at Dottie's web page and it has been changed to read "Adoption Pending - please apply anyway."

WHY!!!! Why does it say that? I need to go write her Foster Mom. I'm sick to my stomach!

Well, apparently until they actually receive my adoption contract they list it as pending. So I completed it and emailed it this evening and I'm sending the original tomorrow.

I already feel like Dottie is mine. My heart would break if I was told I couldn't have her now.

Glad to hear that you finished up the paperwork and have the contract on its way.
 
I felt the same way when I saw Laddie's photo on my rescue site. I had been thinking of getting Katie a companion for a while. When I read his story - he had been abandoned on the street - and the fact that he had lost one eye (we don't know how), I also felt that people would not want to adopt a "less than perfect" dog. It's like I just heard the VOICE saying "you must adopt him - he needs to be with you". He does have some medical issues for which he is receiving medication. He is doing extremely well health wise, and is just the sweetest, most loving - and handsome - boy! I can't imagine being without him. He truly was a gift to our little family.
I say bless you, and everyone who adopts a rescue dog, sheltie or otherwise, for giving these wonderful companions loving and caring homes! I know you two will have a wonderful time together.
