Well Sophie - "Come back Cadbury, all is forgiven....." What a young age for Merlin to work out zips as well as mud from indoor plant pots.:winkgrin:
 
Hahah! Smart little boy!

Lexi also quickly figured out how to unzip the soft crate. We started to lock the zipper (using a carabiner) and then she just would nose at it like Phebe until it opened. We put an end to that, and she ripped a big hole in it at agility. Sigh.

Back to wire crates for her!
 
Trapp & Jasper quickly learned how to unzip thiers as well.We do try to get both zippers to the top,as that way,they can't see the tab on the zipper pull.

Even Bumper can get her door open on hers.She thought herself quite the diva on the trip to NY two years ago.With all her rubbing & pushing of her nose,against the webbing of the crate,she ended up with a sore on her nose that looked like it would never heal.

We ended up just putting a pillow between us,and she slept quite comfortably.
Look out Sophie...the days are only going to get more & more fun as Merlin learns all about the big world.

And somehow..i'm guessing Cadbury is his cohort in crime~I can't wait to see the pictures...:biggrin2:
 
Oh ya, my partially blind Cooper learned to unzip the soft crate in one morning as well. They are such smart little stinkers!! Watch out Sophie, you've got a real magician there!
 
I always heard these stories but never believed them, because my pups never even tried.

I guess maybe, my pups are on the dumb end of the scale! :lol:

Content side. Sca doesn't attempt it either and this is a dog that opens lidded garbage cans.
 
LOL Merlin is definitely a sheltie.

All of mine can unzip the crates except Justice because he is too good to try. I can leave the thing unzipped and he'll stay inside. My devilish girls and devil pup, no way. The zipper needs to be clipped shut to prevent escapes.

A couple years ago, one of my friends was dogsitting another friend's dog. So the dogsitting family had two dogs and with the guest, there were three. so they're hanging out in an ex-pen on the really nice large back porch while friend is inside working on some stuff. so guest dog jumps out of the ex-pen (boxer mix) and opens the ex-pen door from outside and gets the lab mixes to come out and play with him. so friend finds the dogs loose and to figure out what happened- set them up so she could watch- too bad no video. I think they ended up putting a cover so no jumping out but don't really remember. I just told the other friend that his dog wasn't allowed to teach my dogs how to do that :winkgrin::lol:
 
oh- and yes, Crandix have let themselves out of their soft crates. Dixie isn't as bad as Cran- she just unzipped hers. Cran actually pulled one of the two zippers off the track so it's a one zipper crate now. I have actually ordered an ex-pen to put their soft crates in during my club's trial coming up in March. Hopefully that will mean that they will be there when I go looking for them :winkgrin::yes:
