Shows in Poland - how it looks?

In a few days will be on an international dog show (with CACIB titles). I would like to show you how it looks in Poland.
I will try to make a few movies and (a lot of) photos from shelties competitions

Any questions? Requests? Explain something?
Enjoy! :biggrin2:

I don't know enough about showing to ask any questions, but I'm really looking forward to some Polish Sheltie TV and photos!

Thanks! This will be really interesting. I'm looking forward to photos and videos of the dogs to see how they differ, if they do, from the American Standard.

Also, in line with a previous discussion regarding conformation between American and British Shelties, I wonder if general temperament has a distinct difference too.

Do the show grooming practices differ, i.e., trimming, and use of chalk or other products?

I can't think of anything else right now except I wish I could go with you!

So, at the first - some photos from International Dog Shows in Warsaw (author of this photos is my friend Meggi):

Show grooming...
Useing chalk for white, water with conditioner and some dog hair spray :wink2:
But if coat is really goot condition (not blowing) I use only water and some chalk to whites :smile2:
And trimming ears and paws.

Those are great photos. Thank you for sharing them with us. You can see the difference between North American shelties and British ones. I don't know much about showing myself. Maia was in her first show a couple of weeks ago, but I had someone else handle her in the ring. She did not like being shown at all. I do know that they also use chalk, dog hairspray and some other products to make them look 'better' - although, personally, I like the way they look 'au naturel'.

I dunno....

To me, the dogs looked North American and the bitches looked to be British style....maybe just because of the obvious difference between the sexes.

Lovely pictures! Nothing like a freshly groomed Sheltie!

Yeah, dog from intermediate and champion (son and father) and open class are like as american shelties (line from Jade Mist, Cidahope and Cataway  ).
Dogs from youth class: tri male is british&canadian (Trademark's) lines ;-) and sable boy is hmm mixed lines (american and british - in live he is very big boy and looks like more collie... ) :wink2:

In bitches is similar (without puppy class).

Anna, are any of these pictures of your dogs? We absolutely love all the pictures you are sending us. I think I like the British dogs best.
