After trying it on,we decided that he needs a large,so we'll be exchanging it tomorrow.They had an awesome red jacket..but Brian said no.(men)!! Hopefully they will have a large in this style.

Egads, sorry guys, I am waaay behind in catching up on some of these threads! We have all kinds of agility equipment, much of which is easily made. Weave poles with PVC (thin) and long screws to stick in the ground, and little PVC jumps that are built like horse jumps with cups that you can raise them (although we keep them low for Shelties). We also have an adjustable tire jump. All that stuff I got on ebay, believe it or not! Search "dog agility equipment" and you'll be amazed at what you can find pretty cheaply. Then we made a coop from two planks, and a dog walk also from two by fours. It's really pretty easy, and doesn't take up much space. We have a tunnel that I ordered from JC Penny -- it's a kids' toy and works wonderfully! The jumps you can put around the house in the winter and just run them there, although outside is better of course. But in Canada, Barb, I imagine you'd have a tough time finding them in the snow!

Anyway that's my information...not very helpful, but I'd suggest an ebay visit. Hope it helps!

I have a whole wardrobe of doggy coats. My Scruffy used to get chilled in the winter after she had Lyme disease so I had all weights of coats for her since she went with me everywhere. All I had to do was hold her coat and she'd come running to put her head through the opening.

The one you have for Trapp is adorable, Michele! We found that all our Shelties need a Large which makes one wonder what size you'd order for a Great Dane! My favorites came from the horse catalogs (which also stock dog coats). They are made like horse blankets, with surcingles under the stomach and in all kinds of great material. I think more of the dog catalogs carry them now, and also in that style, which I found worked best. Our current dogs though have such coats of their own that no one needs more covering!

Thanks Ann! Much appreciated! I'm not sure how I'm going to tackle the winter snow challenge! Maybe I'll just tarp the whole backyard and keep the snow out altogether! I can sit under the blue tarp in the my lawn chair and pretend I'm under a blue sky in Florida somewhere! :lol:

Thats totally fine Ann,that is where we found the best deals was on ebay also.So for the price of any of it,many of the pieces are under 30.00,it saves the buying of pvc pipe.Plus Brian is not mechanically inclined..if ya know what I mean.I can run have the power tools around here better than him.

The jacket came from Walmart believe it or not! It was just to cute to leave there~:wink2:
 
How cute! :biggrin2: I put an Arkansas Razorbacks jersey on Smudge once (don't ask why - I don't even like football!). I couldn't get it off him. :uhoh: I ended up having to cut the crazy thing off. Luckily I didn't cut any fur in the process.

Also, where did you find a jacket that would fit a sheltie?! :confused2: I never could find one, and so I gave up. The measurements always seem to be wrong on the packages. Companies need to make up their mind if a sheltie is a "small" dog or a "medium" dog. :lol:
 
Well I just kinda went by looks. I did measure him before I left here.
Take a measurement from the dock of his tail to his shoulder,and that should give you some kind of close measurement for a size.

It fits him perfectly actually,but no room for growth,so I'm taking it back tomorrow and getting a large for him. don't know if i can find one just the same.They had a real cute red jacket with a hood I may end up getting instead.

I know dog sizing is like buying for a newborn..:lol:
 
I am so bad with sizing. I bought 4 rain coats for Bailey until I finally found the right one. Since two were from petco, I was able to exchange it. One is from petedge.com. No point in sending that one back. The shipping will probably be just as much as the raincoat. Maybe she'll grow into it...one day
 
All the clothing (Sweaters for Happy, coats, etc) have been bought at pet stores with the dog there for trying on purposes. Yes, the sizing is crazy- really big dogs don't get cute stuff. most things seem to be made for toy size dogs. :rolleyes2:
