Small grey spots on nostril

Hi

I've just noticed a few tiny greyish spots on my sheltie's nostril. One of them is slightly raised.

This is definitely not a new condition in the past week or so - we've just had new grass laid down so I'm wondering if this could be an allergic reaction?

Has anyone had any experience? I'm taking him to the vet but just want to know if it's a common thing that others have seen...

I'm not familiar with this and I think letting your vet take a look at it is a very good idea. How old is your sheltie?

Fiona gets a bit of a grey-ish crust on her nose from time to time. The vet said it was allergies and a lot of her dogs have it out here. However, hers just washes off when I give her a bath.
