My 5.5 month old just got neutered and microchipped this weekend and I could not be happier!
He underwent a laser procedure, which was a little more expensive but resulted in a teeny-tiny incision that is healing beautifully. In fact, aside from a couple groggy hours right after he woke up, I don't think he even feels any discomfort (eating normally and everything, even being a little jumpy, which we are trying to discourage just to be cautious). He's also adjusted nicely to his new e-collar/bonnet, although we don't always keep it on him while we are around because he hasn't shown any tendency to lick or scratch at his sutures. Can't wait for him to completely heal so we can go on long walkies again!!
I'm not really sure why I am writing this post about something so mundane, but I just wanted to share how relieved I feel now that he is neutered and how very thrilled I am that it all went so smooth. So, to all you non-breeder parents out there who may have been holding off, go get your babies neutered! Better sooner rather later, they'll thank you for it, you'll thank you for it, your neighbor's dog might even thank you for it. Plus, the younger they are, the faster they'll bounce back! Just do it
