What a wonderful dog, Speckle was! He left us yesterday, after a surprise diagnosis of liver cancer. He was only 8. He was unlike our other Shelties. He would bark when our daughter laughed. He would bark when we asked him to sing. He liked to walk a circular path, and get really revved up. He was the prettiest blue merle, with a brown eye that had a blue speck, and a blue eye with a brown speck. He was a good brother (not blood related) to our other dogs, Moppet, Sonny, and the Shih Tsu (who is the boss) Powder. His brothers and sisters miss him dearly, and keep looking for him. We all miss him, and wish our time with him hadn't been so short. He is with his brother (not blood related), Bear who passed away from liver cancer on August 7, 2009, at the age of 9. We love you Speckle, and Hope that we will see you again. Mommy, Daddy and Katie xoxo
 
Dear St. Francis,
Yesterday Speckle slipped from Earth and raced across green pastures right into your arms. We know what a warm and loving welcome you gave him, and how you told him that it would seem but the twinkling of an eye before all those he loves so dearly come over the fields to cross the glorious Rainbow Bridge with him. Until that time, send your healing strength to those who love Speckle.

I know you and your family must be heartbroken. Hold your memories dear. Speckle is running and barking free at Rainbow Bridge.
 
I'm so dearly sorry for your loss.. <3 I will be praying for you and your family to have the strength to get through this terribly hard time..
