Strange quirks your shelties have

Like Ashley's Lexi, Indy always does two laps around the table while I get his cookie when I'm getting ready to leave the house.

Bacca doesn't spin but when he is excited about something he chases his own tail. Too goofy! And at dinnertime, he doesn't bark, but he makes a kinda funny grunting sound that sounds EXACTLY like Scooby Doo!

Both boys go absolutely crazy from the sound a paper towel being torn off the roll. And of course, the bathroom. Bacca likes to rest his head on my lap when I'm doing MY business. I'm not sure why he thinks this is a bonding moment! :rolleyes2::lol:

I had forgetten one of Noah's quirks. He used to circle around the table when we were eating and each time he passed by, he would poke you.

She likes to rub against the bathroom floor mat. Does anyone else's shelties do this?

Lexi does this too! She doesn't do it as often in my bathroom, but in my husband's she does it all the time! (Maybe his mat is stinkier? haha!) She will also do it if we're over at someone else's house :rolleyes2:

Quirky, let me count the ways! Aonghus likes to go to the gas station with me, chase the squeegee as the attendant washes my windows and then grab the receipt from the attendant's hand, pull it in the car and drop it. For this they have christened him "Crazy Lassie." Also, he feels he must have his water out of a plastic water bottle, we have a filter on our tap and the water is fine, but he will not drink it unless it comes out of that bottle and, get this, it has to be poured into a very small hamster dish to be lapped at and the dish must be refilled while "Mommy" asks "Angy, do you need more waters?" Also, the doofus will only eat if his food is in a tiny little dish (holds about 1/2 cup max) that I hold for him while he sits beside me in my chair. He seems to believe that he is still a tiny puppy. He sings along with my daughter, is obsessed with sticks and sheltie spins like a pro. Angy is a little weird . . .

The thing that annoys me about the 'happy happy joy joy ' spin is that i have to be gone for about 4 days, and the kids had to be off to college for a month, to merit one. The wife gets one if she goes out for 15 mins for coffee.
(Mommy mommy mommy I missed you so - you haven't changed a bit!')

Should she go away for a few days, she gets the 'lawn sprinkler' super version. - Dr. Mac

Barkley has lots of quirks, but his most famous is his aversion to the Empire Rug commercial on TV. There's a video of it on a thread here somewhere. It's hysterical. As soon as the jingle begins, he will run from a dead sleep anywhere in the house, jump exactly twice (no more, no less) up to the level of the TV, bark and then run back to the kitchen. He's very precise about it.

Pixie loves to tail surf. When the dogs are outside playing, she will grab a tail to latch onto and run behind the dog that owns it.

Checkers is a singer. I've never had a dog who actually sings! She throws her head back like a coyote and sings to TV commercials, singers on TV, even babies crying. She prefers sopranos (which she is) and loves Aretha. It's worth watching American Idol just to hear Checkers outdo the contestants.

Her Sublime Sheltiness, the Empress Katie will only eat her dinner if I am holding her bowl. Somewhere along the line she developed this "quirk". If I put the bowl on the floor, she will sit and wait until I pick it up again and hold it for her. She will drink her water out of the bowl on the floor, no problem.
Casanova Sheltie Man Laddie will run in the bedroom, jump on the bed, and stick his head under the pillow when I get his leash to go out. He does this about 95% of the time. Otherwise, he is under the chair or kitchen table and I have to go look for him.
He also has to plant himself directly in front of me if I go to the bathroom. As I've said before, you can't pee in this house without an audience!!

And of course, the bathroom. Bacca likes to rest his head on my lap when I'm doing MY business. I'm not sure why he thinks this is a bonding moment! :rolleyes2::lol:

Hey atleast you get his head. Gypsy walks in spins around and backs her butt up to me like "Can you scratch this". Can't she see I'm tending to my own?:confused2::lol:

Alice used to come lie in front of us, cross her paws, and wait till we said, Welll, wwellll, Alice", and then she would "talk" back to us. She only did it lying down, paws crossed, facing us. She clearly loved a little chat!
