Swollen and runny eyes

Casey is 8 months and this is the second time he has had eye issues. The first time I contributed it to the shampoo I bathed him in. It was one eye and very red and partly closed. This time it is both eyes but not as bad. There is nothing different in his eating or daily routine that would activate it. After reading some of the posts I see that Casey may have allergies. Can it be something worse????

Especially if the runny stuff is yellow-green. Pull the lower lid out gently and see if the eye and the inside of the skin is red and irritated. But off to the vet, I would go if it is yellow green!

McKinley had a little run of conjunctivitis this summer and the ointment the vet gave me finally cleared it up after about 10 days. We think it was an allergy.

Oh and he scratched at his face a lot with his paws like something was itching or tickling his face.
