tiny white spot on eye

Hi All

Yesterday I found a very tiny white spot in the middle of Mo Mo's right eye. any one know what is it? I searched in the goodle. the answer said is
"They are called Brushfield spots after the physician who firs described them. They are cause by aggregation of normal iris proteins."
will it disappear itself? or need to see vet?
is the white spot related to his dog food that is high protein?
I'm feeding Horizon which have 34 % protein.
 
not sure how old your dog is but it could also be a Corneal Dystrophy I have one that has this. They've had it for several years now and doesnt seem to affect vision at all, ive had them checked out by a vet ophthalmologist. But definatly have it vet checked, never want to fool around with the eyes!

I agree. Could be corneal dsytrophy. But get it checked out.
 
It's okay Mo Mo, it will work out fine, you're trying to figure htings out :yes:. Youl will call your Vet tomorrow and get it checked out and Mo Mo will be okay..:wink2:

after vet checked

Hi all

2 weeks ago, I bought Mo Mo to see vet of his eyes, the vet said it dont looks like a serious problem and gave him a eye drops, he asked me to bring him back for check up after 2 weeks.
ok, today I bought him to re check up, the spot is still in his eyes, the vet made a test on him, and said he dont know what is it?
and gave me another eye drops for another 2 weeks. he said at this moment will not affect his vision.
he said if the spot still there, he will send him to Vet opthalmologist. he said the fees is expensive of the specialist, the first appoitment need $ 150.
I'm now very worry about mo mo eye's.
Any advice of this problem?
 
again im surprised your vet doesnt know about corneal dystrophy...its a common problem with shelties. Drops wont cure it. there is no cure however the majority of the time it will not affect their vision unless it ulcers. Some have suggested that feed a lower protein diet as sometimes High protein can cause it...but its most likely hereditary.

I second Rachael's post find a local dog club that holding a CERF clinic...
 
some one suggested me to go to Humane Society, is there a vet can help mo mo and will be cheaper?
I saw the articles of corneal dsytrophy dont need treatment, is it true?
I saw the spot is on the surface of the corneal, the vet said he is sure that it is not inflection.
CERF clinic is open for anybody, dont need our vet to refer us to go there?
Lightplum, you mentioned that you have a dog also have this problem, do he need any treatment for that?
should I finish this bottle of eye drops then ask for further assistance?
