Get a super soaker and fill it with mild ammonia spray. Won't hurt the dog but they will hate it, and you have range.

I just can't encourage someone to beat a dog with a stick, club, cane, etc. Besides having that just not sit well with me, I think that would just enourage more aggressive behavior from the dog.
Scare the dog off if you find yourself in a compromised situation, but more importantly you need to find some way to stop the dog being let loose in the first place.
If it comes to my hand or a stick coming between an off leash aggressive dog and my dogs, what am I going to choose? We are not saying to run after the dog and beat it senseless. But protecting yourself and dogs is more important than being nice to an aggressive dog.
I guess she could always keep some slip leads in her pockets, grab the off lead dog and hike it right to the management office and cut it loose in their office. That would be fun. I would even troll the parking lot to do that.
