Translate a Sneeze into "Sheltie"

Katie's had an interesting behavior for years - ever since I adopted her. When I sneeze, she is compelled to throw herself in my lap and starts kissing me. It's only when I sneeze - and Laddie totally ignores it. It got me wondering, what am I saying (translated into "sheltie") that makes her want to do that? Does anyone else's sheltie have a "sneeze thing"??:rolleyes2:

omg are you kidding, I think MOST Shelties have the sneeze thing going on. I believe it means OMG I must rescue you, revive you with a quick jump on the chest if I can reach it... :biggrin2:

Oh yea - those mean old sneezes - they just might hurt you. Emma comes running to see what happened if Dad or I sneeze. With Noah, if I sneezed, he came to see if I was okay. With Mom, he just looked at her. With Dad now, he would give the most horrified offended look, get up and stalk off. I would hear Dad sneeze and then see Noah stalking into the bedroom.

Shelties are highly concerned that the air sheep that comprise our breath are stampeding and must be turned and herded back into the lungs.

LOL a common sheltie thing. Maggie barks when I sneeze and my Katie used to lunge at me- like I was being attacked and she had to save me!! Zak is not to concerned yet but does give me a look. You will get used to it.

Sheltie reactions

We have a situation with Tara (Prima is beginning to learn), not sneezes, but cuddles!!!!!!! If I cuddle Cally(my wife = MBH) or my girls, or grandchildren - then Tara sets up the most ferocious barking. We think it is a reaction to PDA (Public Display of Affection) - but you are right it could because I'm trying to kill them! (Is it encouragement or protecting them?). Shelties are so lovely and so funny.

Callie has never cared about sneezes. I had a cold when Cranberry came home so maybe he just thinks it's a normal thing- he doesn't do anything

David our Maggie barks at times when Mark hugs me, mostly it is when he is leaving to go to work. Actually that is how Maggie learned to jump up into our arms. Once when she was way younger and I believe still in the puppy stages my husband was hugging me good bye and with his arms around me Maggie leaped in to his arms... luckily he saw her coming and could catch her. She up untill the past year or so would leap into our arms on command.

My boy, doesn't bother him. Lady, yep I am going to die, I have taken my last breath. When my DH sneezes she could care less. Sinus weather, mine are the pits and I really sneeze alot.
