Trying to dominate or is it play

Some times when I get down on the floor to play with Zak he puts his front legs on my shoulders. So is he playing or trying to dominate me?
 
This is why I'm not a fan of Caesar Milan because now everyone thinks their dogs are trying to dominate them.

What does he do after he stands on your shoulders? Most likely he is just playing with you.

He's playing with you.

I get down on the floor and then MMM gets on the couch and towers over me and pounces on my head. He's playing with me.
 
My vote-Playing

Diva does the same thing. Justice did it too when he was young will still do it if he is being silly. The dominate B.... Ember never did that ,she would give you the hard stare and tense body posture thing if she was trying something.

Cooper climbs all over me. I don't think he's trying to dominate me for a second. I think he has no idea what personal space is though!! He's just trying to get as close as he can. He is the ultimate lover boy!

I used to worry if Toffee was 'talking' whether that was him trying to be the boss... just to learn he really was just talking and grunting.. none of my other dogs ever did that... of course never had a Sheltie before
