University of Georgia for diagnostic testing

Thanks for your well wishes. We went to the park today with my grand kids and he felt good enough to chase the tennis ball, trot after my granddaughter and comforted her when she fell down and cried. (She's 4)

His nose bled a little bit so we came home and are watching Netflix. He's being spoiled rotten every single day, but I've also gotten some chinese herbs and he's starting on eassiac tea. I'll start a cancer diet for him too. I can't make the tumor go away but I hope I can stop it from growing rapidly.

You are doing everything right and hopefully it will buy your sweet boy significantly more comfort time. He doesn't know the dx and will love every day he has with you. I know this is such a hard time emotionally, but I also know you will cherish the memories you make during this time. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

What loving support you are giving. No matter how long you have each day is a gift to be cherished. You are to be commended for going the extra mile to provide supplemental herbal medications. When I see so many seniors dumped at shelters it warms my heart to see the love, comfort, and care you are providing! Bless you!

You're doing such a great job so just keep doing what you're doing. When I got told my Harley had between 2 weeks and 2 months to live we went and created some of our most special memories.
He couldn't be anywhere better than by your loving side so just make what time you have together extra special.

Sending love your way :hugs

My first report didn't stick. Probably because I was crying so hard I hit the escape key or something. I wish we could escape the diagnosis and prognosis...

Nasal Carcinoma. Advanced, it is invading his skull and neurological symptoms are expected. The vet gives him a week to a month.
Oh my goodness....I am so so sorry to here about this diagnosis. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family ❤️

Justus update: It's been one week today since we started piroxicam, and five days since we started on the Chinese supplement. The tumor is visibly smaller, at least the part on the outside between his eyes. His breathing is a little (lot) better too and there is much less sense I am getting of any discomfort. I am so grateful that he is doing well and behaving normally. The only little thing that is different is that he is licking the walls and floor where I've never seen him do that before. I will try freezing some yogurt on his likimats and see if that will give him a good outlet for his licking. I wonder if licking is a pain response.

Today we stopped by the dog food boutique and I came home with turkey tail mushrooms, a green veggie glob from Primal, several pounds of a complete raw diet, Allprovide (I'll start by briefly sauteeing it) and he's getting some goat's milk every day as a snack. I'm stocked up on wild caught sardines packed in water, and bone broth. I need to find some co q 10, and anything else you can recommend. Tumeric is not the best for bleeding cancers, is what I have heard...

I am desperate to keep him comfortable and happy, so if you have any advice of diet or supplements, I'm willing to listen!

Encouraged but depressed all the same!

I've decided to stay away from the cancer support groups for dogs on facebook as it just tears my heart apart...

Have you checked out Rodney Habib? I know he has a dog cancer series that you can buy (it's not cheap though) but I'll give you the link in case you want to check it out...https://www.dcscommunity.com/ (this isn't a Facebook group although I think they do have one). This is Rodney Habib's website...he may have more info on his site. https://www.planetpaws.ca/2017/05/14/one-aggressive-cancers-defeated/
Wonderful to hear you noticed a small change in the size of the tumour! Any change is good news!

glad to hear that Justus is feeling a little better....
I don't know if licking is a pain sign- if he was licking a hurt paw or leg, I'd say yes but the floor????
Cran was panting a lot every day after we go home from the show- I made him an appt with the acupuncture vet and talked to my vet about supplements/pain meds. He isn't panting like that now so I guess it's all working..
