Update on Jasmine

Jasmine's biopsy came back from the bladder growth. Not good news, it is transitional cell carcinoma. The tumor was on a stalk and was about 1/2" x 3/4" and was near the top of the bladder, unusual place for tcc. The vet removed the tumor, and the margins came back clean. We are starting Jasmine on piroxicam in the next few days. We are keeping our paws crossed, that with the piroxicam, it will stay in check. Our baby is 10 1/2 and we will not put her through chemo. She is recovering nicely from the surgery. And acting and feeling better every day.
 
I am sorry Jasmine got the TCC dx...but with the tumor removed and clear margins she should have a really good chance at a lot more quality time with you. Please give her a gentle hug from me.

Thank you for the update on your baby girl. I'm sorry the dx is what it is but sounds like the vet did as good as possible. I will keep your little Jasmine in my thoughts and prayers for a complete, pain free and total recovery. Please continue to keep us updated. :fl :hugs
 
So glad little Jasmine made it through surgery and is feeling better! Hope she continues to improve. Hugs from me and licks from my boys for you and Jasmine! :hugs:yes:
 
Jasmine had a really good summer. She had two teeth extracted a couple of weeks ago. They had her on an antibiotic for the teeth, and than she starts with some bloody urine again. Other than the blood in the urine, she is acting fine. Eating well, blood work came back good before the dental surgery. She isn't losing weight, and is playing and isn't having any problems going potty. At this point, we are watching her and making sure that she doesn't have any other issues. We won't put her through anything invasive or stressful. She turns 11 on November 15th, paws are crossed. We do know that if she starts having issues, we will do what we need to do, so that our baby doesn't suffer. It really sucks, we also have a 14 1/2 year old sheltie, Mandy, who has severe arthritis in her back end. So afraid we are going to lose both our baby girls. We also have a 6 1/2 month old sheltie puppy named Sadie.

Having recently entered the lovely world of dog cancer, I understand how emotionally draining this can be :(

But clean margins are good....the most important thing based on what I have read.

The waiting is the hardest part, especially knowing it is your burden alone. Jasmine just lives every day to the fullest :) Knowing you have a happy dog is your reward:winkgrin:
