uti in sheltie puppies

I have a new sheltie pup, 14 weeks old. She came down with uti about 3 weeks ago. Crystals and blood noted in urine. We trwated with antibiotics, backed off of crate training until better and then reintroduced gradually. Finished all two weeks. All seemed fine. Off antibiotics only 3 days and some systoms returned. Crystals sill in urine. Now on clavamox. And back to pen and not kennel. Trying lots of water. Adding water to dry food. Is this commom for pups? any other recommendatuins or thoughts? Do i need xrays at this point for stones?

I would contact your breeder and see if this is a problem she's had in her litters. She can probably also advise you. We've had several people here who have had UTI problems with young dogs so hopefully they'll chime in with some advice too.
