We are from Russia :)

Hi! thanks a lot! I still very slowly am guided at a forum, it is a lot of information, but I hope I can remember and people and dogs later.:smile2:

corbinam - you are right! "Paka" - It means good-bye! So it is unusual that on the other hand the world know Russian, there are Russian people and we love identical dogs.

Caro - huge respect that you love the Russian literature! Pushkin at us the most important russian poet, also is not present any person in Russia who would not know at least one poem or a fairy tale, even the small child. Therefore when I say that our dog call Pushkin, people smile!

Unfortunately I anywhere was not - Neither in States, nor in Canada, in Australia, therefore all is interesting to me, and I dream to do a bit of travelling worldwide. For now I will read a forum and I will try to communicate, language how much will allow.:wink2:

Both yours have enormous and beautiful coats, guess those cold winters are great for shelties. They look very youthful for their ages. Are there many shelties there?
Caro, thanks for your questions. My dogs live in apartments, so I think they coats not so much depends on russian cold winter.:rolleyes2: Pushkin in snow is similar to a hedgehog:lol:

In Russia it is a lot of sheltie, and a lot of people is engaged in this breed professionally. Those dogs who live in open-air cages, of course, are dressed very richly, with a long rich fur.

In spite of the fact that sheltie it is a lot of, this breed of dog in Russia not very popular. Enthusiasts of breed are engaged in them only. And I consider that it is the best breed. Sheltie has a lot of advantages. Though also small, but a working sheep-dog. I held rough collie earlier. Many collie-owners in Russia hold now and sheltie too, as well as I.

Some my sheltie-friends are engaged in the "shepherd's service" (i don't know how it in english right...). Go on days off in a special place for a city to graze sheep. The majority of our sheltie-owners are engaged with dogs in work, sports, sheeps. Sheltie for this purpose very much approach!

Welcome to the forum Elena. You are a lovely person, and your shelties are adorable. I have also looked at the pictures you posted of your sculptures; and they are very good; beautiful work with lots of energy, love, and spirit. I am so glad we are meeting here on this forum!

I see what you mean by a hedgehog in the snow!

They do sheep-herding there. I would love to try herding with my shelties, its top of my list of things to do! Quite a few people on this forum do herding.
