Me three! I was looking at my girls, and thought...tomorrow we are getting some grooming done!
 
Westminister results

I hope I'm not repeating a thread here....I did check to see if anyone had posted anything yet, but didn't find anything. I apologize in advance if I'm duplicating what was already posted.

Bacca's daddy, Shelhaven Alaris (no. 15) was shown but unfortunately did not place. However, Shelhaven's Sweet Seduction (No. 14) got Best in Opposite. Her sire is Alaris, so I guess she is a cousin of Bacca's. Well done, girl!

On the Herding group.....a couple of comments:

- I did not realize that they dock the tails of Australian Shepherds....anyone know why?
- the German Shepherd had the same "low hock" stance that is becoming the norm for this breed. I deplore this!
- and the rough collie who placed.....seemed to me that the tail was asymetrical when it went through its paces. Made me wonder why it would place?

But what do I know? :razz:
 
I apologize....I did not think a thread had been started, so I started a new one on this, then suddenly this appeared in my unread.

Yey to the Shelhaven pups! I somehow missed that Bacca's daddy got Award of Merit! The videos are very unclear....I kept trying to find the numbers on the handlers arms, but really hard to see.

Which handler was Alaris's? I kept trying to pick him out!
 
If you're watching the WKC video, at the end you'll see the judge point to the top three. The woman in the white suit is handling Alex and The man in the grey jacket is handling Olivia (Shelhaven Seduction, Alex's daughter).

I really wish they'd caption these videos with at least the dog's name. It's very hard to figure out who's who and as you said, impossible to see the numbers, Barb.
 
Thank you! I really did look but I didn't go deep enough....I only looked in the chats...didn't think to look in Breed Handling! :o

Thanks, Ann! I'll watch the video again.

The second time I watched it, I kept saying...that's Alex, No, THAT's Alex, no, that's Alex...how frustrating!

Seduction is a gorgeous girl. Even before I looked at who was registered, I'd picked her out as a winner. I actually liked her better than the Best of Breed winner....but then you get into the dog vs. bitch thing.

As for the Herding group....I agree that the winner was a great choice, and the 2nd place as well. But do you think the judge was biased "away" from her breed as a Sheltie owner herself? I thought the dog showed well, and should have placed, but that's just my bias, I guess.
